History of the house

Bridge End Cottage is situated in the National Park and originally built in the 1800s.

It was previously the Old Village Post Office and work began in the 1990s to convert it adding additional living space. More recently, the downstairs bedroom was added.

The path and steps to the river supersede even the Grade 2 listed Packhorse Bridge to its left. This path formed part of the river crossing that was a famous route for all those travelling via horseback from Lancaster to York in times gone by.
